Lisa Cornish is a Partner, Head of Property and a Director of Gillhams Trust Corporation Ltd, specialising in residential conveyancing, leasehold enfranchisement and Court of Protection matters.
Lisa graduated from the University of London with a first class law degree and has been a partner at Gillhams since 2010.
With extensive experience advising individuals, families, deputies and attorneys, Lisa provides clear, practical legal advice on all aspects of residential property transactions. Lisa leads the firm’s Residential Property team, overseeing the sale and purchase of homes, re-mortgages, transfers of equity, leasehold and freehold transactions, including lease extensions and collective enfranchisement and other complex conveyancing matters. Her focus is on delivering an efficient, proactive service while making the legal process as straightforward as possible for clients.
As a Director of the Trust Corporation, Lisa also has particular expertise in Court of Protection matters, supporting individuals who lack the mental capacity to manage their own property and financial affairs. Working as part of a Trust Corporation appointed by the Court of Protection and included on the Office of the Public Guardian’s panel of professional deputies, Lisa oversees the management of complex financial affairs and property transactions on behalf of vulnerable clients. She works closely with families, care providers, financial advisers and other professional to ensure every decision is made in the client’s best interests and in accordance with the Mental Capacity Act 2005.
