Eva Lai

Eva has general private client experience and specialises in all aspects of Court of Protection work. She has extensive experience in dealing with the elderly and vulnerable clients and has an empathetic approach to client care.

She is a Professional Deputy and enjoys the distinction of being a member of the Panel of Deputies for the Office of the Public Guardian (which only has 70 Panel Members countrywide). As such she is regularly requested by the Court of Protection and the Office of the Public Guardian to act as a Property and Affairs Deputy for those who lack mental capacity and are unable to look after their own affairs.

She has clients from varied cultural backgrounds as well as high profile clients and regularly deals with volatile and complex matters, often involving missing assets in the UK and overseas and fraud. Her cases vary and many involve a foreign element. She was recently appointed by the New South Wales Courts & Tribunals in Australia to act as a Financial Guardian so as to protect and manage substantial assets in that country.

She is involved in the promotion and protection of rights for those with disabilities and in particular is a Dementia Friend, a member of Age Action Alliance and Campaign to end loneliness.
