Listing hearings are used by courts to make directions for the parties to comply with in preparation for the trial in litigation. Parties are given notice of the date that they are required to attend the court is required fix a date for the trial in litigation. Listing hearings are usually ordered where the information contained in pre-trial reviews is incomplete or not adequate for the court to properly manage the litigation.

Usage: The court fixed the date of the trial at the listing hearing.
