lex domicilii

[Latin: The law of the domicile] The lex domicilii is the law of the domicile that governs matters such as the validity of a will, testamentary dispositions, contracts of marriage, and the proper law of the marriage contract.  Accordingly, the lex domicilii will be applied to determine the substantive disputes in respect to such matters, and the procedural law will be the lex fori.

Usage: The lex domicilii in the case was ruled to be the laws of England.
