A person who is required to leave a country at the request of the government of the day. Usually used in the context of the diplomats being requested to leave an embassy or other foreign national presence (such as a consulate) in a country as a sign of extreme disapproval of some event between States. [Latin: an unwanted person]
Usage: The diplomats were declared persona non grata and were required to leave the country within 14 days.
