Our law firm has been established for over 70 years. During that time we have continuously improved our quality of service, legal expertise and responsiveness to ensure our clients receive the best possible legal service in our areas of expertise.
Sound technical legal skills. An understanding of business priorities. Certainly an appreciation of client objectives. Timely delivery. Legal issues explained with clarity to enable informed decision making.
These are aspects that we have built into our practice to maintain the level of service we provide. We have implemented processes and structures, and where appropriate our service levels with our clients.
This would be lost without our relaxed, friendly service whilst adopting an innovative and focussed approach.
Our service to our clients is backed by our commitment to continuous monitoring and demanding professional and personal standards of performance and proficiency. A major objective of our practice is to streamline our international clients' requests for legal advice and assistance.
The former Law Society President, Mr Peter Williamson said that research by the Law Society suggested that fewer than 50% of law firms have a PC on every solicitors' desk. Mr Williamson went on to say that many law firms simply do not see the relevance of them. We use technology to manage our own practice and our clients' files. For instance, we use electronic templates for structuring evidence that is otherwise prone to being received in an unstructured fashion.
Some of our technology clients have adopted our approach and instructed us with Intranets on CD-ROM and by email, containing Excel spreadsheets, Word documents, emails and a vast array of other electronic document formats. The benefits of obtaining documents in electronic form starts from the fact that by and large they are searchable and ordered on a computer system in a way that far exceeds paper-based filing. Needless to say, paper documents can be critical in providing proper legal advice - but not all documents need to be original. We create electronic versions of documents internally and deal with that form whenever possible, to maximise the efficiency and ease of use.
To take a case in point, traditionally the majority of commercial litigation is paper intensive. Although the introduction of some initiatives by Her Majesty's Court Service - the enterprise which supports the court system - have alleviated some of the requirements to file and serve documents. These steps are still in their infancy. We choose to adopt technologies and implement systems to make legal advice more cost effective. For instance, we encourage the use of electronic signatures to save time and expense. Indeed, our solicitors have served documents electronically from one end of the country to another.
Some of our solicitors, prior to qualifying as solicitors spent significant periods of time in the IT industry. We find that their expertise, flexibility and willingness to provide the tools to our clients assist them in obtaining quality, cost effective legal advice across the practice. This pays dividends for clients in reduced time managing files - which is reflected in our costs.
Our firm-wide adoption of technology allows us to manage our workload more efficiently. Coupled with our Lexcel accredited work flows, this makes a powerful mix. Accredited best practice legal services combined with the benefits that well thought out IT systems bring.
For us, a modern solicitor does not simply mean the ability to use email. That was only the beginning. Our internal systems serve us and our clients with the objective of sound, adaptative legal advice for important legal issues that need to be addressed.
This means that our lawyers and solicitors have the relevant expertise and experience to provide timely legal advice ensuring our clients are able to meet the demanding challenges of business confronting businesses in the 21st century.
